This photoseries focuses on the Russian dacha as an lush oasis far away from the city. The series contrasts itself with the typical Realism present in contemporary western photography focusing on Russia and instead presents a subjective, almost idillic view on this russian tradition. Freed of his daily chores the dachnik (inhabitant of the dacha) can revel himself in the simple life of handiwork, enjoying nature and making fire for the sashlik (russian BBQ) and banya (russian Sauna).
